New Olympia "X" singles are in stock and are available for Sale. The boats are constructed of multiple layers of carbon over two layers of UV resistant gel coat with a nomex honeycomb core in the middle. The Olympia "X" hulls have been tested for stiffness and have an average defection less than that of the traditional Olympia construction. This added stiffness makes for superior power transmission. Also the "X" construction can result in a shell that is 1-2 lbs. lighter than the Olympia in weight with the absolute weight dependent on the overall length of the hull. All the boats are at or under the FISA weight limit.
The Olympia "X" construction is black with the clear coat showing the carbon in the outside layer with red trim instead of red with black trim as shown on the traditional BBG shells. The clearcoat allows the customer to see the quality of workmanship of the hull.
The boat will come with your choice of Dreher 2004 or 2005 three-way adjustable carbon foot stretchers with your choice of New Wave or red and black rowing shoes, Dreher side-mounted carbon tubular riggers with a padded rigger bag with the choice of Magic or standard competition insert oarlocks, a Dreher single action carbon seat, a choice of two styles of carbon fins (sailboard or parallelogram), adjustable tracks and a tool kit with spare metric hardware, metric tools, a special pitch meter for carbon riggers, Al spare fin. Optional items, at additional cost, include padded Sunbrella boat cover, Dreher Sculls (any model), NK Electronics and wiring, slings, etc.
